Occupational Therapy
Lauren Besser
What is occupational therapy (OT) and is it right for my child?
As an occupational therapist, I work with your child to identify both their strengths and any areas they are finding more difficult.
To inform my work I use assessment tools to create bespoke Occupational Therapy sessions, ensuring that the intervention strategies I adopt addresses your child’s needs. I take time to develop a constructive rapport with you as parents and communicate with your child’s school so that key strategies can be used outside the OT sessions.
OT will support your child to be able to do all the things they want and need to be able to do; both with a smile and confidence!
I can work with a wide range of conditions and tackle everyday challenges by addressing:
- Fine motor skills
- Gross motor skills
- Visual spatial skills
- Co-ordination and praxia
- Handwriting
- Self-care skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Independent life skills
I aim to put the fun back into functional!
